Theres one creature that I could do without but alas it too has the right to live and thrive. That leaves us humans with the need to be safe and preventative. Always the best method, in my opinion. Although there are plenty of insect borne diseases/bacteria, I wanna share this recording specifically for its information on Lyme's Disease. It can be found on www.npr.org, categorized under the On Point program, titled:Tick-Borne Diseases Are On The Rise.
I found it to be very informative and full of insight for people that like to spend time with their amazing pups outdoors. Just the other week on two seperate occasions, I found 2 on the back of my own neck. Gotta stay aware and careful because dealing with the day to day symptoms is both exhausting and tedious.
Blacklegged ticks, or deer ticks, are the main carriers of Borrelia bacteria.
Thankfully there are alot of products out there that can aid in our attempts to keep these little devils off our backs. I personally use essential oils for myself: Camphor, Jasmine, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, Patchouli: the list can really go on. I would say that in my experience the smell from the oils helps repel mosquitos and ticks, as I end up being a walking fragrant incense stick. There is also a product that Dr. Karen Becker and Dr.Mercola created together that is similar to my essential oils, as it contains certain oils. Link Below: Check it out!! But yes the traditional methods work too, they are just filled with alot of chemicals.
